Hi there, you do not know me, but let me introduce myself. My name is Cherisse Kaelin; a mom, a wife, an administrator for an online charter school, and a blogger. I am here to tell you that Motherhood is a blessing even if it’s crazy.
A Little About Me
I have a crazy life that is beyond blessed and I wouldn’t want it any other way. I have 4 beautiful children ranging from 3 months to 15 years old. My life consists of either changing diapers, taking them to school and extra curricular, housework, and watching 2 hours a week of shows. Married twice, divorced once. Started working on my career in education in 2003. Became a teacher in 2005, took 3 years off in 2015. I got back into education in 2018 working from home as an teacher.
Currently, I work from home with my two youngest here by my side. Yes, I have some help which is a lifesaver, but I manage to keep my job going while taking care of the youngest two.
My Why
You can say I have been through the gambit. I have seen a lot, experienced a lot, and while I am no expert in any field, I know a lot. This blog was created to help other moms realize they are not alone in this journey called motherhood. Often times we feel like we are the only one who is on the struggle bus, but it helps ease our minds when we realize we aren’t. Knowing there are others out there going through the same things allows us to know that maybe our crazy lives aren’t that unusual. In an age where everything looks so perfect based off of the highlight reels of people, we get caught up in wanting that life we see not realizing that it isn’t the whole picture.
It’s like the iceberg photo: we only see the tip of what is actually happening in lives of others. We compare ourselves to those other moms. That comparison makes us feel worse about our lives. We try to create a life that could be unattainable because it’s not our life we are focusing on. I want moms to know that there life is imperfectly perfect because it’s their life and they are where they are supposed to be.
What Is This Blog About
This blog has been created to help give some insight about motherhood. The blog will contain tips for different stages of motherhood and even meal plans for busy moms. Since I wouldn’t be where I am without my faith, I will be writing devotionals. I love to write, teach, and I love to help others. It’s a passion of mine to help other people in life. While there are times I have been down and out, I try to stay positive. It is my goal in life to help others stay positive, as well. We won’t get anywhere in life if we are negative. I have seen the most darkest parts of life and been in deep, dark places with my mental health, and as a mom, there is no room for that. God’s grace helped pull me through those tough times.
Why Should You Read My Blog
If you are mom who needs a little help, a pick me up, a laugh or two, then you should read. If you feel you don’t need extra help (trust me, we all do), then keep scrolling. Again, I am no expert. Being a mom doesn’t make someone an expert, however, I have some good insight on motherhood. I have done some research on particular aspects of motherhood, but nothing compares to just learning as you go. Every child is different and every situation is different. My family is unique as is yours. You can try what worked for me and if doesn’t work, then so be it. Try another method or tip. Motherhood isn’t a science, one day something will work with your children and the next day, the method could be a dud.
Let’s ride this roller coaster called Motherhood together.
